Privacy policy

1. Calculator inputs

Buyer, gold value, bullion and zakat calculations run in your browser. Invoice assessment sends its inputs to Thahby’s server as described below. These tools do not require an account, name or phone number.

2. Data on your device

Local browser storage keeps your theme, recent metal prices and timestamps, daily reference exchange rates and price alerts, including karat, target, currency and condition. Storage persists until you clear site data or delete an alert; triggered alerts are removed by the tool. Delete alerts in their section or clear all site data through browser settings. These preferences are not synchronised across devices.

3. Price, font and notification services

Thahby provides gold and silver prices through its Thahby API services, using external data providers. Your browser connects to external price services, ExchangeRate-API for daily reference rates and Google Fonts for fonts. A notification icon may load from Postimages. These services receive technical connection data such as IP address and browser type, and potentially request and referrer information according to browser settings. Price requests do not include your gold weights or calculator inputs. Each provider applies its own policies: Google privacy and exchange-rate service terms.

4. Sharing through WhatsApp

Choosing Share opens WhatsApp or its website with the selected result in the link. You choose the recipient and confirm sending there. Thahby does not automatically message anyone or request your contacts.

5. Browser notifications

Price alerts may request notification permission, which you can refuse or revoke in browser settings. Alerts require the page to remain running; there is no background notification service after it closes.

6. Hosting and logs

The host may process technical request data, including IP address, time, path and browser, to operate and protect the site and diagnose faults. Retention follows hosting settings and provider policy. The site includes AdSense, described below. No separate analytics tool is added, and Thahby does not send calculator inputs in custom Google advertising requests.

7. Google AdSense and cookies

Google and advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. Personalisation may use previous activity here or elsewhere, depending on settings and required consent. Ad services may receive IP address, browser and device properties, visited page and ad interactions.

Disabling personalisation does not remove all ads. Where a consent message is shown, review its purposes and providers, choose permissions and use available privacy controls to revise them. Presentation depends on country and consent-service settings.

8. Contact and control

The contact-page template prepares your message locally in your browser. It does not send form fields to, or store them on, this website’s servers. Sending takes place when you confirm it in your mail application. You can also copy the email address or message and use your preferred mail service.

For privacy questions or requests about information emailed to us, contact info@thahby.com. Your email address and message reach the mail provider for receipt and response. Avoid unnecessary sensitive information. Clear locally stored data through your browser.

9. Charts and news

Charts, weekly history and news headlines are fetched through Thahby servers. Your selected country determines local coverage; precise geolocation is not requested. Responses are cached for speed and fewer requests. Calculator inputs are not sent to news providers. Opening a headline takes you to its publisher, sometimes through an aggregator, under that external site’s privacy policy. Thahby does not copy full news articles or images.

10. iPhone app link

Safari uses Apple’s built-in app invitation. Other iPhone browsers show a dismissible invitation, with dismissal stored for that tab’s session. Device detection happens locally, without a dedicated promotion-server request. The download link opens the App Store under Apple’s policy and does not send calculator inputs or results.

11. Invoice assessment

The tool sends country, product, karat, weight, total and tax to Thahby’s server for comparison with metal and exchange prices. Inputs and reports are not stored in the database or sent to price providers. Report text reaches WhatsApp only when you choose Share; recipient selection and sending happen there.

12. Language preference

The browser’s language list selects a supported language. A manual choice is stored locally under thahby-language and can be changed from the language selector or cleared with site data. Translation files are part of the website; calculator inputs are not sent to a translation service. News and untranslatable user-authored articles remain in their original language.

13. Policy updates

This policy may change when site functions or services change. The date above indicates the latest revision; check it before using new services.
