Check the document
Identify the laboratory, report number, date and scope. Use the laboratory’s official verification service. Read the material, natural or laboratory-grown origin, disclosed treatments, weight, dimensions and shape.
Match the actual stone
A report number or copied laser inscription alone does not prove that the stone is the one described. Where necessary, have a qualified professional compare the stone’s characteristics with the report.
Keep the invoice too
The invoice should distinguish the principal stone, side stones and metal, and match the agreed description. A laboratory report is not automatically a monetary appraisal, insurance valuation or promise of investment profit.
